Freddy K. 2010 Review

1..2..Freddy's coming for you

I'm going to try to make my review as non bias as possible and not give too much away...so here I go. I give the movie overall a C+ and the only reason I don't give it a C- or D+ is because, and only because, of Jackie Earle Haley's performance as Freddy Krueger. I totally believed that he was the psycho serial killer that he was portraying. Everything from the way he talked down to the way he carried his knife glove was perfect! I kept getting chills every time he came on the screen! I truly believed he was Freddy Krueger. I think it was because the director decided to make Freddy more "serious and sinister" compared to the 1984 Freddy played by Robert Englund that was "comical". Other then that I was not impressed with the new, young cast...bad acting I guess. That does not go for ever member though. I feel that Kyle Gallner (Quentin), you may know him from "Jennifer's Body" and "The Haunting in Connecticut", did a good job but I'm guessing that is because he has some experience in film.

Jackie Earle Haley= A
Kyle Gallner=C+
Everyone else in the movie=D
Movie Average=C+

You'll have to see for yourself what was left out and what was changed though...if you have seen the original 1984 film it won't be that hard to make note of the changes. If you've never seen the original then this movie might be a B- to you since you can not compare the two. For a *must see* on a scale of 1 to 10 (1 being HAVE TO SEE) I say 5...all depends on your taste for thriller movies.

Comments welcomed :] or give me your own review if you disagree with mines.

*Top 10 Must See 2010*

10. Resident Evil: Afterlife (Sept. 10th)

9. Predators (July 7th)

8. Paranormal Activity 2 (Oct. 22nd)

7. Harry Potter and The Deathly Hallows: Part 1 (Nov. 19th)

6. Letters To Juliet (May 14th)

5. The Karate Kid (June 11th)

4. The Last Airbender (July 2nd)

3. Sex and The City 2 (May 27th)

2. Eclipse (June 30th)

1. Iron Man 2 (May 7th)

2010 is a year of remakes and sequels, or in Twilight's case sagas. Edward Cullen is definitely not the only person to get excited about this year. Personally I'm happy to see Will Smith's son, Jaden Smith, staring along side Jackie Chan in the Karate Kid! Then there's Adrien Brody (The Pianist) staring in the remake film of the 1987 thriller "Predator", which is entitled "Predators" (#9). With Brody's previous roles always being so humble and soft-spoken it will be interesting to see how he handles a role with so much action and violence. "Dear John" sweetheart Amanda Sayfried stars in her 2nd romantic movie of the year called "Letters to Juliet"...I guess Amanda+letters to hunks+romance=movie magic!

Romance, Comedy, Thriller, Suspense, Remakes, Harry Potter and Bella Swan. What a great year! :]

Iron Man 2 ! ! !

Awesome Trailers Found At: www.heavy.com/hd/trailers/iron-man2

Ummm so who's excited? I'm excited!!! Is there anything else to say? I feel the need to
do any official count down for this movie :] In 8 days Robert Downey Jr. will be reprising
his role as Tony Stark aka Iron Man. The first film left us with Tony admitting his counter ego
to the media. For those that remember "The Hulk" (2008), what I like to call the THANK GOD
remake, Samuel L. Jackson approaches General Ross, between credits, talking about putting
together a team...dun dun dunnnnn. No shocker that he will be in "Iron Man 2"...so any more
secret endings to foreshadow future movies? I don't know but I sure am ready to find out :]

Comments welcomed.

Movie Premiere: Must or Bust?!

Ahhhh its Freddy!!!
*2010 Freddy Krueger above*

So we have all heard about the remake of "A Nightmare on Elm Street" that comes out April 30th but what comparison does it really have to the original? I don't know about anyone else but "Friday the 13th" and "Halloween" was not to my horror movie taste. Although Rob Zombie's vision of "Halloween" has the widest release of any Halloween film it didn't stop movie attendance from dropping 72% in its second week of show. With such a young, sexy cast of one hit wonders starring in both films what was really expected?... Sex...check! Nudity...check! Dying while naked and having sex...CHECK! There was more focus on boobs then there was on the serial killers...but hey people have to make there money somehow.

But that is neither here nor there. Lets get down to the basics. Who will be playing the new Freddy? Jackie Earle Haley? You mean Rorschach from "Watchmen"?!...hmmm that's interesting. I think I might have just got a little excited about this film. It seems that I'm not the only person who sees this as a plus against all odds. Robert Englund himself (the original Freddy), after seeing Haley's casting film from "Watchmen", he agreed with the casting of Haley for the part. So what about the role previously played by Johnny Depp (Glen Lantz) in the 1984 film, is the new cast-ee worthy? Ive read rumors that there have been some role switches so Depp's character might be replaced by a character with a different name and different role? The main character now known as Nancy Halbrook (2010) instead of Nancy Thompson (1984) has also been another change in the remake of character and role.

SN: Kellan Lutz aka Emmett Cullen will be playing Dean...just to let Twilight fans know.

Well heres the argument on many of the movies official blogs...is this for the "slasher movie" fans or are movie studios running out of ideas? What do you think? Comments welcomed :]
